Conclusions from last night’s phone call with the bestie:

1. The zeal we feel for anthropology may or may not be the same fervor felt by the religious towards God. Except in our case we worship Dr. Andy Lass, and not-so-secretly, we feel that this is fully justified and appropriate.
2. A sense of entitlement and desiring reward for hard work and dedication are not the same thing; we deserve good things because we work our damn asses off.
3. There is more to the world than here and now. We should enjoy it, but also recognize that it will just. keep. getting. better.
4. My analogies get worse as the night goes on. FACT.
5. A good partner inspires and encourages you to improve yourself and reach for your dreams. S/he does not take up your entire being acting like a needy toddler.
6. Everyone’s a little bit racist. Maybe not hatefully, but definitely in terms of utilizing stereotypes to explain behaviors or situations.
7. Amanda is freakin’ amazing and our phone calls are like a good session of collaborative therapy!
